As of August 2018 the State of California has changed the requirements of the “Prop 65” law. We now must list on our website any possible chemicals the can cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive problem.

NOT ideal for generators | |
| The description says it is ideal for generators so I thought it would be handy hooked permanently to my genny, right next to its governor adjustment. Unfortunately, this meter is no better than a toy. If you only need accuracy to within a few percent, it may be a good choice for your project. Straight out of the box, connected to the 120VAC line, this one read 59.0Hz when my bench counter showed 60.01023Hz. There is a tiny trimmer on the meters pcb that has a wide adjustment range, I could make the meter read anywhere from below 50Hz to above 70Hz. The trimmer requires a delicate touch to get within a tenth of a Hz. I adjusted the reading to 60.0 and left it for 10-15 minutes. Upon returning, while the bench counter showed 59.99878 this counter said 59.7Hz. Just now as I write this review my bench shows 59.99712 and the meter shows 60.0Hz So, the meter cannot hold accuracy. Perhaps small temperature variations are a cause, I only know this meter will not be useful to me. I give it a couple of stars because it looks nice and does indeed work over a large AC voltage range. | ||
